Favourite Hell in a Cell Structure?
There have been 40 Hell in a Cell matches in WWE History.
Though some matches have been memorable and some matches have not, one thing remains the same, the ominous Hell in a Cell structure.
Well, that’s not completely true.
The Hell in a Cell structure, like everything in WWE, has evolved and changed slightly over time.
The original Hell in a Cell structure (pictured “1.” above) debuted at In Your House: Badd Blood in 1997 during the Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.
The Structure then remained the same until Unforgiven 2006 when the Hell in a Cell underwent significant renovation. The Cell became significantly larger and debuted during the 3-on-2 handicap Hell in a Cell match between D-Generation X against The McMahons and then ECW Champion The Big Show.
Hell in a Cell then was renovated last year for the Hell in a Cell 2018 event with the wires being changed to red. The fully crimson-red structure is smaller, with the wires being less pliable, making the structure stronger, yet lighter.
