Opinion on: Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman Feud?
We want to give you the opportunity to share your opinions on all things professional wrestling!
Today we ask you; What is your opinion on the Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman feud?
On the premiere of Friday Night Smackdown on FOX, in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Tyson Fury was among the variety of celebrities and WWE Legends/Hall of Famers in attendance. During a match involving Braun Strowman, The Monster among Men jokingly squared up to The Gypsy King who was sitting in the front row. Fury stood up and obliged to the challenge from Strowman.
However, things would quickly turn physical as Strowman would throw Rag Tag Team Champion Dolph Ziggler into Fury. The Lineal Boxing Heavyweight Champion would them jump the guardrail to confront Strowman before security would prevent any physicality. That would not long last though, as Monday Night on Raw, both Strowman and Fury would brawl amongst referees and the WWE roster to end the show.
It has since been announced that Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury will face off for a match in a WWE ring at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
What is your opinion on the Tyson Fury vs Braun Strowman feud? Are you looking forward to their match at Crown Jewel or is this just another desperate attempt at WWE to garner mainstream publicity.
Editors Opinion: I understand why some people are rolling their eyes at this feud. “WWE only cares to the casual fan”, “The Crown Jewel shows are just about money”, “WWE is desperate for mainstream publicity” etc etc. and all of those arguments are 100%. However, Tyson Fury is a big name in professional sports, especially boxing with an incredibly loyal and devoted fan base. In a time where less people are watching WWE in a long time, WWE reaching out to a legitimate sports draw makes sense. Their hope is those boxing fans who don’t usually watch WWE will tune into the Raws, Smackdowns and Crown Jewel events. Personally, i have no issue with the fued. It’s something different. WWE hasn’t done a lot of different recently, so i give them credit for trying. The match itself won’t be anything to write home about but WWE is aiming for a spectacle and i’m sure it will be. If Braun Strowman was facing another WWE Superstar who isn’t a big star (due to there not being many legit stars in the WWE at the moment), then people would be complaining that “the card doesn’t do anything for me” and “it’s just another event”. Publicity is getting people talking and matches like this do just that.
