Sammy Guevara WILL return to AEW – Cody Rhodes confirms
All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has confirmed that Sammy Guevara will indeed return to the promotion upon the completion of his suspension from the company, which includes sensitivity training.
Last week, AEW suspended Sammy Guevara without pay after a clip emerged on Social Media of Guevara commented he wanted to “r*pe” WWE Superstar Sasha Banks during a 2016 podcast interview.
Sammy Guevara has since apologised to Sasha Banks both publicly and privately and also posted a video on his official YouTube account apologising once more for his actions. Sasha Banks also released a statement on the matter explaining that she had indeed spoken with Sammy Guevara.
AEW then released a statement explaining they had suspended Sammy Guevara without pay indefinitely, explaining that the company would revisit his employment status after he undergoes sensitivity training.
However, less than a week later, AEW Executive Vice-President has given an indication on Guevara’s employment status despite being only a week into his suspension.
The news that Sammy Guevara will be staying with AEW is not surprising in itself, however, it has had some fans wondering why Cody would comment on the issue only a matter of days into Sammy Guevara’s suspension.
It has not been confirmed when and where Sammy Guevara will return to AEW television. But, it has been speculated that it will likely be at the end of July/beginning of August as the company builds to the All Out pay per view.
