The Undertaker really RETIRED? The Last Ride Analysis
The Undertaker seemingly made the announcement that he has retired from in-ring competition in the WWE…sort of.
During the fifth and final episode of the WWE Network documentary series, ‘Undertaker: The Last Ride’, The Undertaker stated that he has “no desire to step inside the ring again” after his critically acclaimed Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36.
However, The Undertaker did stop short of using the term ‘retirement’ as he mentioned he would consider returning to the ring once again if “Vince was in a pinch”, adding the phrase “never say never” when pondering if he would ever compete in another match inside a WWE ring.
This has lead many to speculate as to if The Undertaker has truly retired from in-ring competition. The Undertaker has stated on several occasions in recent years that he is “done”, only to return to the ring once again when WrestleMania season or a WWE Saudi Arabia pay per view comes around.
In my opinion, while i think the Boneyard Match was the perfect ending for The Undertaker character and Mark Callaway, i think we will see The Undertaker compete inside of a WWE ring at least one more time.
WrestleMania 36 wasn’t the sold out stadium show that we all envisaged due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Whilst the Boneyard Match was critically acclaimed, it was still a match with no fans in attendance. In my opinion, the lure of a WrestleMania stadium event with 90,000 fans in attendance (whenever we get back to that) will be too much for The Undertaker to turn down one more time.
Take a look at my thoughts on if The Undertaker is really retired in our latest YouTube video.
