Then vs Now: Cody Rhodes

This week’s edition of Then vs Now features the one of the Executive Vice Presidents of All Elite Wrestling, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.

Let’s take a look how Cody Rhodes has evolved over 13 years from his Ohio Valley Wrestling debut in 2006 to this current year, 2019, in All Elite Wrestling.

The son of WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Cody signed with WWE in 2006 on a developmental deal beginning to wrestle with OVW in May 2006. His first match was at an OVW live event in Corydon, Indiana on May 13, where he lost to Pat Buck.

On the July 2, 2007 episode of Monday Night Raw Cody Rhodes would make his WWE debut in a backstage segment involving his father Dusty Rhodes and Randy Orton. In the segment Orton would disrespect The American Dream, slapping him across the face. Two weeks later, Cody would face Orton in his debut WWE match in a losing effort on Monday Night Raw.

Fast forward to 2019, Cody is one of the founding members of the new promotion All Elite Wrestling. On January 1, 2019 Cody unveiled AEW in which he, along with Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, would serve as Executive Vice Presidents and on-air talent.

Over the past 13 years Cody Rhodes has achieved the following accomplishments in professional wrestling with numerous companies:
